The Acquisitions division of this leading eBook publisher is searching for a paid Editorial Intern to begin working our of our lofty SoHo offices as soon as possible. The position is part-time, and paid hourly. The intern will assist the Director of Acquisitions and Associate Editor with various tasks, including but not limited to:1) Reviewing manuscript submissions and evaluating book submissions for acquisition2) Researching books for e-publication and reviewing agent client lists and publishing houses3) Writing and editing copy including book descriptions, author bios, and tip sheets4) Preparing for presentations and in-office meetings including marketing, covers, and contentThe Editorial Intern will work closely with the Director and Associate Editor to evaluate content and also brainstorm new creative content for e-publication. The candidate should have solid organizational skills and have an interest in various genres. The Acquisions department is fast-paced and candidates should have the ability to work independently and multitask.This is an excellent opportunity to get exposure to the digital publishing world at a smaller company where interns make a big impact.
